Anglican CathedralLocated along Hope Street and from the RC Catholic Cathedral, the Anglican Cathedral is the largest cathedral in the U.K. and one of the great buildings of the twentieth century boasts the highest gothic arches and heaviest ring of bells, while the magnificent tower enhances the city's skyline from where the view is magnificent over Wales and over the whole of Liverpool. Its construction began in 1904 and building continued until 1978 according to plans draw by Giles Gilbert Scott. Inside the space is cavernous and has the largest organ of any cathedral in the UK. Within the gallery there is a splendid Victorian and Edwardian embroidery exhibition of religious vestments. In addition to worship, there are also a number of concerts, exhibitions, recitals and graduations held here.
