England belongs to the United Kingdom; it is the largest country and the most populous of the four nations that form part of the United Kingdom with almost 52 million inhabitants roughly 90% of the total population of the UK. The country is located on central and southern two-thirds of Great Britain; it shares lands with Scotland and Wales and has more than 100 smaller islands, the most remarkable are the Isle of Wight and the Isles of Scilly. England total area is 50,346 sq mi (130,395 km2)
England borders to the north by Scotland and to the west by Wales, across the Irish Sea to the west by Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, across the English Channel to the south by France and the Channel Islands and to the east by the North Sea.
