Aston HallBuilt between 1618 and 1635 by Sir Thomas Holte, this fine Jacobean country mansion displays a series of period rooms containing fine furniture, textiles, silver and paintings from the 17th to the 19th centuries. Situated in a public park on the north side of Birmingham is the largest and oldest of the five community museums owned by Birmingham City Council and is used as an educational working museum. The layout of rooms is largely unchanged, and they are linked by the original imposing grand stairs and splendid 136ft Long Gallery.
