Arrival to Liverpool



Liverpool is easy to get to and well served by Air, Rail, Coach, Sea and Road.

By Air
Liverpool John Lennon Airport located in the suburb of Speke just 8 miles from the City Centre, has regular scheduled flights from within the U.K. and mainland Europe. Outside the arrivals area there are available bus stops and taxis to the city centre.

Manchester Airport serves a wider variety of destinations and is just a short train journey away from Liverpool the journey takes around 1 and half hours.

By train
Get to Liverpool are available from major towns and cities into Liverpool Lime Street station which is located in the heart of the city centre.

From London to Liverpool the journey takes about two-and-a-half hours and there is a train about every hour.

From Manchester Airport to Liverpool there is a direct train every hour at peak times (around 06:30-19:30). It is possible to reach Liverpool by changing at Manchester Piccadilly or Manchester Oxford Road too.

By bus
The best options to getting to Liverpool are the National Express and Megabus.

National Express, the U.K.'s largest scheduled coach company has a bus station a short walk from Liverpool City Centre.

Megabus operates a fleet of ex-Hong Kong buses on its network across the U.K. There is one bus daily from London to Liverpool.

By Road
From the M6 the city is easily reached via the M58, M56 & M62 motorways. Liverpool city centre is approximately 45 minutes drive from Chester, Manchester and North Wales; just over 1 hour from Blackpool, the Lake District, Yorkshire Moors and the Peak District National Parks; just over 4 hours from London.

By Sea
Services between Liverpool, Douglas, Belfast and Dublin are operated by Norse Merchant.
