Bristol Travel Guide

City South

At the south of the city are located Southville, Bedminster and Totterdown, all lively areas and very popular with city inhabitants. Totterdown has pretty painted houses lining the hills. It's worth venturing here to enjoy the amazing views of the city, or 'totter down' Vale Street, one of the steepest streets in Bristol. Southville is a popular spot to enjoy a relaxing drink and some great food.

Head to Horseworld visitor centre in Whitchurch, where you can meet and greet rescued horses, ponies and donkeys, touch and groom the animals and visit their interactive museum. You can follow a nature trail and relax in the picnic area - it's a great place for family days out and children's parties.

Noah's Ark Zoo Farm based in Wraxall is a fantastic zoo featuring rhinos and Gerald the new baby giraffe, baby chicks, rabbits, guinea pigs and camels. There are daily shows, animal encounters and huge indoor and outdoor adventure playgrounds, all in a scenic farm setting.

Tyntesfield is a Victorian country house, with historic contents, gardens, park and estate buildings.
